So we went to Juneau on the 22nd-23rd to help Wilson's brother John drive his SUV and trailer down to Wasilla, AK. It was quite the trip!
We had some time to explore the Saturday we arrived in Juneau, so we hit some of the tourist spots. We started with a trip to Mendenhall Glacier and a walk out to Nugget Falls. It was typical Juneau weather - wet, but it was beautiful!

This is Wilson and John checking out the glacier and nugget falls.
Yeah, I know. It's really beautiful. This is part of Tongass National Forest which is the nation's largest national forest. It covers most of southeastern Alaska and there aren't even roads through most of it.
A nice shot of the silt beach next to Nugget Falls.
Here Wilson is scaling a rock next to the ice rescue ladder. It is for rescuing stupid people who try to walk out on the ice.
Also we spent some time downtown that night shopping. Here are some foggy views of the city.

As John McDonald would say, Juneau sits in the butt crack of the mountains. And he is right! There are stunning views everywhere and my phone couldn't really capture it. The only way to access Juneau is by boat or by plane. I wish we had gotten a picture of the sign for the "end of the road." Yep, all roads dead end at some point in Juneau.
On Sunday the 23rd our journey began at 4am getting ready to ride the ferry up to Haines, AK. It was a 4hr ride and we slept, ate breakfast, and had a jam session with the music from our phones. Here is a picture from the solarium on board. Technically we were on an enclosed deck with heat lamps. It was pretty nice.

Pretty good picture of our view.
There aren't a lot of pictures from our trip because we drove off the ferry and took turns at the wheel for the 15.5 hr drive from Haines to Wasilla. We made it across the canadian border without incident although we had some cuties oranges that might have been confiscated (if they had known about them). It was so nice being able to switch out drivers!

Wilson and I arrived home in Anchorage that morning around 4:30am and crashed in bed. Never has a bed felt so good!!
Such a fun trip despite the long drive back to Anchorage. We will definitely visit Juneau again in the future.
Also here is a picture of Wilson being a creeper again. Typical :)
